Let’s reflect and see what Nostradamus predicted back in 1555: with a 70% success rate it may be worth taking his predictions into account.
2024 according to him will bring climate chaos:
“The dry earth will grow more parched…and there will be floods.”
Australia has already witnessed both these events…
He also predicted:
“Combat and naval battle…. Red adversary will become pale with fear. Putting the great Ocean in dread.”
China has showcased its naval fleet several times around the South China Sea and Taiwan…
The clever part about Nostradamus’ writing is that it is vague enough and could be linked to real events, but in 2024 climate change is real, and the threat of global peace is a possibility.
Whether you believe or take Nostradamus predictions with a pinch of salt, 2024 will continue to throw some challenges your way – be it personal or professional.
Here are some suggestions to help navigate yourself through:

Embrace rather than recoil
Change will affect you in 2024, try to see it as positive and not a threat: many people spend a huge amount of time and energy trying to avoid change but if you can learn to cope with change you’ll lower your risk for anxiety and depression.
Ask yourself what is really important and what you can control
Is there any point worrying about things outside your control? This is a common source of stress and anxiety – it is natural to worry sometimes but find the mechanism to help reduce this.
Plan what you want to achieve or have an A.B.C plan strategy in place
If Plan A doesn’t work you move to Plan B and then to Plan C – this reduces the risk of worry. Most importantly track progress and if any changes are required act on it fast, a further piece of psychology research for you: did you know there is something called the Zeigarnik Effect? This means that unfinished tasks occupy your attention and make it more difficult for your brain to focus – having a written plan frees up working memory: sounds good right?
Recharge regularly through the year
Most of us are doing more with less, so regular time out is key.
Know yourself and your trigger points
if you can spot the early signs of stress and act on it early then this is better for you, your family, your employer…
As we all get 1 year older in 2024 one thing is for sure: the rate of change in our society be it AI/ technology related, socially, work-related reforms / restructures, climate changes or global uncertainty will happen.
If you haven’t thought about how 2024 could look for you – now may be a good time to do so before the year slips away, and change catches you out!

Grace has worked with me—put up with me, really—for nearly six years. Over that time, we’ve built a working relationship grounded in mutual respect, shared humour, and […]

Don’t you love those days where you wake up feeling rested and refreshed, powering through your day at work, look up at the clock at it’s already the afternoon?
