In the fast-paced world of recruitment, success isn’t measured by how many roles you fill—it’s about the right fit. A good recruiter doesn’t just match resumes to job descriptions; they connect people with opportunities that genuinely align with their skills, values, and career goals. There’s nothing more satisfying than seeing the perfect candidate thrive in the perfect business.

Great recruitment isn’t about volume; it’s about quality. It’s easy to place a high number of candidates in jobs, but what truly matters is retention, culture fit, and long-term success. The best recruiters know that rushing placements or cutting corners doesn’t benefit anyone—not the candidate, not the client, and certainly not their own professional integrity.

A guiding principle I always follow is simple: If I wouldn’t personally work with a candidate, why would I place them? And if I wouldn’t want to work at a company, why would I place a candidate there? This mindset ensures that every placement is made with honesty and confidence. It means taking the time to understand not just technical skills, but personalities, work ethics, and company cultures.

The reward? Seeing a candidate step into a role that elevates their career while knowing the business has gained someone who will make a real impact. That’s the real joy of recruitment—not just filling a job, but shaping success stories.

  • Like many year 12 students, I didn’t go into university with a perfectly mapped-out career plan.
